AndaSeat Spider Man Edition Marvel Collaboration Series Gaming Chair Review 2021

If you’re a big Marvel fan, you’ve probably already played Spider-Man and/or Spider-Man: Miles Morales on the PlayStation 4/5. If you’re a huge Marvel fan, you’ll consider dropping half a grand to play that game while sitting in a chair with Spidey’s face on it. AndaSeat offers the Marvel Collaboration collection, gaming chairs festooned with the likes of Ant-Man, Captain America, Iron Man, or Spider-Man. The gaming chairs are expensive, starting at $399.99 for Ant-Man and going up to $549.99 for the Spider-Man chair model we tested, but they offer excellent build quality with thick materials, lots of embroidered details to really bring out the characters they invoke, and even floor mats.

Avengers Assemble

Putting the AndaSeat together is a direct process that matches most other gaming chairs we’ve reviewed. Attach the chair back to the seat using the side bolts. Flip the chair over and screw on the base plate. Fit the wheels and gas piston cylinder into the base. Set the chair on top of the cylinder. Getting all of the screws aligned, especially when attaching the chair back, can be tricky, but it’s fairly simple.

Once assembled, the AndaSeat is a beauty, at least for Marvel nerds. The Spider-Man chair we were sent is red and blue, made of a sturdy, faux leather with black webbing embroidered over the red parts. There are even two white cut-outs with textured plastic in the middle near the head rest, evoking Spider-Man’s mask and eyeholes. Although we haven’t tested the other AndaSeat Marvel chairs, the Ant-Man, Captain America, and Iron Man chairs all feature their own different color schemes, upholstery patterns, and details to evoke their respective heroes.

The chair is large, comparable with the excellent SecretLab Titan, our Editors’ Choice pick for gaming chairs. Its seat is 22.4 inches wide and 20.5 inches deep, and built to accommodate users up to 440 pounds (though 330 pounds is the recommended weight limit).

Adjustments and Accessories

The entire chair can tilt freely back and forth thanks to a lockable tilting mechanism and adjustable titling tension. In fact, you can pull a level located on the chair’s right side to tilt back up to 160 degrees. The armrests feature adjustable heights, and can be slid forward and backward and rotated to three different angles. And, of course, the chair’s height is adjustable thanks to the gas piston cylinder in the base and lever under the seat.

AndaSeat includes a rectangular memory foam lumbar pillow and a smaller headrest pillow. Both pillows are made of memory foam and faux leather, though the headrest pillow feels a bit stiffer because it’s smaller and covered in an embroidered spiderweb design (the lumbar pillow is simple blue and red, with a Marvel logo embroidered in the middle). As a nice bonus, AndaSeat also includes a circular chair mat that matches the chair’s associated hero. The Spider-Man chair comes with a round, red-and-black spiderweb mat based on Spider-Man’s costume and logo. The Captain America chair mat resembles his shield, and the Ant-Man and Iron Man mats feature their respective helmet designs.

AndaSeat Marvel Collaboration Series Gaming Chair Spider-Man

A Solid Seat

Once assembled and adjusted, the AndaSeat Spider-Man chair feels sturdy and comfortable. While the foam padding and faux leather aren’t quite as dense or thick as SecretLab’s materials, they’re tangibly denser and thicker than the material we see on most gaming chairs of this type, like the GTRacing Pro Series GT099. The big, soft memory foam lumbar pillow is particularly nice, providing support to my lower back without feeling too stiff or puffy (a problem I’ve felt with some other chairs’ lumbar pillows). The metal base and wide plastic wheels glide easily across most floors, and the included floor mat will help further protect those floors.

Warranty Options

AndaSeat offers a two-year, limited warranty for any chair defects, extendable to up to six years with the company’s AD Care extended warranty. Curiously, instead of a separate fee for the warranty, AndaSeat appears to provide AD Care to any user who publicly makes a social media post highlighting their chair and completes an application form. The chair’s steel frame also features a separate lifetime guarantee, though the upholstery and moving parts are much more likely to give out than the frame at any point.

This Chair Be Worthy

If you’re a huge Marvel fan, AndaSeat’s Marvel collaboration gaming chairs are ideal. They’re slightly pricey, but well-built and come with comfortable cushions and even a floor mat. They also faithfully match Ant-Man, Captain America, Iron Man, and Spider-Man’s aesthetics, with each chair featuring varied contours and embellishments, instead of simple palette swaps.

Our tested Spider-Man chair’s feel and build quality are comparable with SecretLab’s, which puts it on a tier above most other gaming chairs. If you don’t need branding and want to spend less money, the $399 SecretLab Titan remains a strong choice and an Editors’ Choice pick. If you’re looking for a sleeker, more minimalist, more adjustable gaming chair, the $555 Mavix M5 offers Herman Miller-like aesthetics in a premium build that offers plenty of support without a lot of bulk.
